Culture Dose for Kids: AGNSW and Black Dog Institute joint initiative

It was a pleasure for members of the Ottomin Foundation to recently attend the Culture Dose for Kids presentation at the Art Gallery of NSW – a joint initiative of the Black Dog Institute and the Art Gallery of NSW. The Ottomin Foundation is a keen supporter of both the Black Dog Institute and the Art Gallery of NSW through other initiatives.

Culture Dose for Kids is the culmination of a five-year research initiative led by Black Dog Institute researchers, in partnership with the Art Gallery of NSW, and supported by the Jibb Foundation. This arts engagement program is designed for primary school-aged children (ages 9-12) who experience mild anxiety. The program provides a safe, structured space for children to engage with and respond creatively to specially selected artworks in a small group setting, with a different theme each week. Engagement with the arts can help people connect to their feelings, thoughts and imagination.

The Ottomin Foundation holds a strong interest in the integration of arts into health infrastructure and congratulates all parties on their commitment to work together for the well-being of young people.
